Current Responsibilities – Eddy Chan serves as Property Controller for CARROLL. Eddy is responsible for the financial statements and all other accounting related matters for CARROLL's property management business. These responsibilities include financial reporting requirements, maintaining systems of internal control, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and providing advisement on financial and accounting matters. Eddy participates in the preparation and generating updated cash flow projections, budgets, variance reports, and quarterly reports to owners. Additionally, he works closely with our CFO to oversee the accounting team and implement streamlined, cost-effective procedures.
Relevant Experience – Eddy joined CARROLL after spending over 17 years at CFLane. While at CFLane, Eddy moved up through the company starting as a financial analyst and ultimately serving as Assistant Controller supervising a team of 7 accountants responsible for preparing financial statements for the corporate entities, REITS, and joint ventures with pension plans. He was in charge of the partnership accounting - preparing a consolidated financial statement in according with GAAP. His team worked closely with the Asset Management team to create/maintain the Asset Management Database. He coordinated the year-end audits and tax return process. Eddy also worked for Sanbury Corporation where he analyzed acquisition and divesture options and oversaw accounting for a 13-property portfolio.
Education/Affiliations – Eddy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia. He graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and earned his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Georgia State University.
