Current Responsibilities - April Dobson serves as the Senior Manager of Design and Construction for CARROLL. April directs the process of architectural and interior design in both public spaces and unit interiors; amenity design and build – working with the Investment and Asset Management teams to develop and implement the capital buildout for each asset in the portfolio.  She believes in functional design, using environmentally conscious building modalities, and creative aesthetics that make our properties feel like home for our residents. April works to elevate the idea of ‘Experience Life without Limits’ - the cornerstone of the ARIUM brand and all of CARROLL.

Prior Experience - April Dobson grew up in construction working in the family business and has her Georgia Contractor’s license. She has spent the last 20 years in Design-Build construction. She has extensive knowledge of design-build onsite management, aging in place and universal design concepts, as well as being a VA certified builder. She has been a part of building or remodeling more than 300 homes in the greater Atlanta area, ranging from custom builds to affordable housing renovation projects.

Education/Affiliations - April graduated from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee with a BA in Business Management and Political Science and worked on her MPA at the University of Florida, focusing her studies in Urban Planning and Design. She is a member of ASID, IIDA, NKBA professional organizations.  She is also a member of the Martha Stewart Bulloch chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, leading committees on Veteran’s affairs, Constitution week, and fundraising for Tamassee DAR school/home for children in need.

Interests - In her time off, she works with publishers such as Harper Collins and Tyndale to pre-read and launch new books into the marketplace, including several that debuted on the NYT Bestsellers list.
